Privacy Policy

The short version

• Your images never leave your browser. Scrubble does not upload them anywhere.
• Your annotations and notes never leave your browser.
• Scrubble has no user accounts and no sign-in.
• Scrubble sends a small, anonymous usage count — you can turn this off.
• Scrubble does not sell your data, and does not share it for advertising.

What Scrubble does with your images

• Scrubble reads the image you point it at in one of three ways: by reading an image the page has already loaded, by requesting the image from the page's own context (this request goes to the AI provider's servers — the same place the page itself loaded it from, never to Scrubble), or by capturing the pixels Chrome is already displaying in the tab.
• All annotation happens locally in your browser.
• When you press Done, the annotated image and your instructions are placed into the message box of the same conversation, or onto your clipboard if that isn't possible.
• At no point is your image, your annotation or your note text sent to Scrubble or to any third party.

What Scrubble stores on your device

Scrubble uses Chrome's local extension storage. This stays on your device — it is never synced to a Chrome profile or to us.

• a random installation ID (a UUID that is not linked to you, your browser, your device or your account)
• whether you have chosen to share anonymous usage statistics
• whether the one-time install event has already been counted
• your editor preferences (such as your last-used tool and colour)
• local usage counts — how many times you opened Scrubble, how many you finished, and per-site totals
• a diagnostic toggle for showing which image Scrubble selected
• licence details, if you ever activate a licence

Anonymous usage statistics

Scrubble counts two things: that it was installed, and that a Scrubble was finished. This is switched on by default and you can switch it off at any time.

When one of those two events happens, Scrubble sends exactly four fields to its own receiver at scrubble-usage.lovable.app:

• the random installation ID
• the event — either install or completed
• the Scrubble version
• which site it happened on — ChatGPT, Claude, or unknown

Nothing else can be sent. The request carries no cookies, no credentials and no referrer.

Never included in usage statistics:

• images or screenshots
• image, page or conversation URLs
• annotation positions
• your note text
• any conversation or page content
• your name, email or any account identifier
• your browsing history

To turn it off: click the Scrubble icon in your Chrome toolbar and untick Share anonymous usage statistics. No usage events are sent after that.

Licences and payment

Scrubble's paid plans are not enabled in this release, and Scrubble makes no licensing requests. If you activate a licence key in a future version, that key is sent to our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, to check that it is valid. Scrubble never sees or stores a payment card — payments are handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy.

What Scrubble does not do

• no user accounts, no sign-in, no profiles
• no advertising, no ad networks, no trackers
• no selling or renting of data, ever
• no reading of your clipboard — Scrubble only writes to it, and only to hand you an image or instructions it could not place directly
• no downloading or running of code from the internet — all of Scrubble's code ships inside the extension package and is reviewed by Google
• no collection of anything from sites other than the conversation you invoked Scrubble in

This website

GetScrubble.com is a static marketing site. It sets no cookies, has no analytics, no accounts and no forms, and does not track visitors. It loads a web font from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's font servers.

Data retention and your choices

• Everything Scrubble stores is on your device, and stays there until you clear it or remove the extension. Uninstalling Scrubble from Chrome removes it.
• Anonymous usage events cannot be traced back to you, because they contain nothing that identifies you — so we cannot single out or delete an individual person's events. You can stop new events at any time using the toggle described above.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Scrubble handles data, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top.
